Meet Lyn. A Celebrant in Dorset and Almeria, Spain
I came to celebrancy via a variety of careers, but the thread that runs through my life is people. I like working with people, I like the general public. I ran a busy seaside hotel for twenty years and the joy of helping guests make the most of their holiday or deal with a difficult family situation was what made the long hours and the hard work worthwhile. People are magical – they’re all different but there is something special about everyone. My job as a celebrant is to capture the essence of what makes a person unique and to celebrate it.
Humans have always felt the need to gather together to mark major milestones, births, marriages, deaths. We are very lucky these days that the formality and prescribed rituals of previous generations, though still available for those that want to take that route, have been relaxed so that people can use their imaginations to create a ceremony that truly reflects their personality.
Whether you are saying goodbye to a loved one or planning the biggest celebration of your life, by working with me you will receive my best attention and I will help you to design a ceremony that is exactly as you want it to be. I will bring ideas, enthusiasm, experience and an informal, relaxed approach that ensures a meaningful ceremony with a light touch that is as individual as you are.
I trained with the UK Society of Celebrants, recognised as the leading association for celebrancy in the UK, so you can be sure that the service I offer is not only personal, but professional.
I work from Dorset, based in beautiful Swanage, and am happy to travel throughout the South/South West, or further afield. I also work in the Almeria area of Southern Spain where we are lucky enough to have a little house in a white Andalusian village.
